Writing A Brilliant Research Paper Abstract In The Apa Format
The APA is a common format for citing your references in a particular academic work or research. To write it exceptionally, follow these simple procedures:
- Use the pronouns in the third person when you refer to a particular action or activity in the research.
- Assume that the researchers are the ones doing the actions or activity, not the other way around.
- Your language in writing should and must be understandable, brief and free from flowery words.
- The review of related literature or RRL should sum up all the necessary details in your report.
- If you feel that you are not doing it correctly, ask help from a knowledgeable friend.
- Your work should and must follow standard spacing in a short coupon bond, correct font style, and size.
- Indicate the title in each of the page/s.
- Sum up your work of in less than 300 words.
- The first page with words should be numbered three (3).
- The title should be placed in the upper portion of the page and make sure that it is in the middle.
- In citing your sources, the surname should come first followed by the first name initial letter/s of the author.
- Make sure you arrange your sources in an alphabetical order.
- The initial letters of titles and subtitles should observe correct capitalization and the rest that are proper nouns.
- Use the italic for lengthy titles or work.
- Beware of quoting, underlining and italicizing any work that is short in nature.
- Use correctly transitional or signal words when you would like to quote someone.
- In summarizing or paraphrasing, indicate the surname of the author and the year when the book was published.
- In case you prefer to include a quoted part in summarizing or paraphrasing, give the number of the page in the parentheses
- When two authors work on the same citation, arrange them by surname and the year when they worked on it.
- Use the conjunction and to separate two authors in a specific work.
- When three authors share the work on the same book, arrange them as they appear on the list of references separated by a comma and ending when their work was published.
- Use the Latin abbreviation et al. (means “and others”) when the book or reference has more than five authors.
In every rule, there is always an exception; but in writing a research paper, there should be no room for error because it will not only affect you but the outcome of the study as well.
